Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitali Kersikov I I (ranked 406 p4p, 504 weight class) and Macca Outback (ranked 63 p4p, 80 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kersikov I I might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sefa & Mr. Ivex - LSD Problem. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Vitali Kersikov I I! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Macca Outback! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Outback tries to land a front kick but Kersikov I I steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Kersikov I I has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. A good leg kick by Outback. Kersikov I I throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Outback to counter with a crisp jab. Kersikov I I loads up on a big right hand but Outback slips the punch. A little jabbing left from Outback on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Outback takes a jab right on the kisser.
Outback misses with a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Outback displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kersikov I I throws out the jab. Kersikov I I lands with a straight right. Outback didn't see that one coming. Kersikov I I takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's one minute gone in the round. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Outback. Outback misses with an uppercut. Kersikov I I rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Outback moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Outback swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kersikov I I motions for Outback to come forward. Kersikov I I throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Outback on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

It looks like Vitali Kersikov I I has been cut. Nice jab there from Outback. Macca Outback seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A decent looking body kick lands there for Outback. Outback fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kersikov I I manages to avoid it. A little feinted left hand from Kersikov I I on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Outback doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Kersikov I I throws a predictable looking body shot
and Outback counters with a crisp one two that drops Kersikov I I! Outback thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Kersikov I I to his feet! Kersikov I I is in big trouble! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Outback throws a hook to the side of Kersikov I I's head but Kersikov I I sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Outback tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kersikov I I was well out of range. Poor timing from Outback. Outback cracks Kersikov I I with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Outback has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kersikov I I to stand back up! Outback lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Kersikov I I falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Macca Outback! In his post fight interview, Macca Outback started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
