Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Tarver (ranked 230 p4p, 503 weight class) and Bill Smif (ranked 15 p4p, 26 weight class). Smif has chosen Playtime as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Bill Smif will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Antonio Tarver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bill Smif! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smif misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tarver.
Tarver throws a hook to the side of Smif's head but Smif sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Tarver misses with a lunging right hand
and Smif makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Tarver tries to move into range but Smif moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Tarver swings for the body but Smif moves out of range.
Tarver throws a looping overhand right but Smif ducks down to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tarver misses with a jab to the body
and Smif counters with a lovely straight right hand! Tarver misses with a jab to the body
and Smif counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. The fight stays on the outside here - Tarver looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A nice side step and Smif releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarver moves to clinch but Smif breaks away and Smif counters with a stiff right hand. Tarver swings widly with a right hand
and Smif counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nice defenses there by Smif. Smif has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Tarver is landing a low percentage of strikes. Tarver looks to clinch enabling Smif to counter with a crisp jab. Tarver lands a nice shot to the body.

Smif doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Smif ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tarver moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smif staying out of range there. Smif keeps the fight on the outside. Smif now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Smif uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tarver.

Tarver swings widly with a right hand
and Smif counters with a nice uppercut. Tarver lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smif at a distance.
Tarver tries to clinch up. Smif now looks to counter with a shot at the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smif connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Smif has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarver doesn't manage to clinch there - Smif circles away.
A nice side step and Smif releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Smif's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tarver connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Smif scrambles back to his feet. Smif slips a straight right by Tarver. Smif doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Smif is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Tarver takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tarver misses with a left hand and Smif counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Smif bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Tarver moves in looking to clinch but Smif pushes him off. Jab by Tarver.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tarver throws out a loose jab but Smif uses good head movement to avoid it. Tarver swings widly with a right hand
and Smif counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Smif misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tarver.
Tarver misses with an uppercut
and Smif counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tarver connects with a body shot that sends Smif's belly button to the back. Smif moves away from the strike by Tarver. Smif avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Tarver is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Smif's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Tarver fails in his attempt to clinch. Smif swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Tarver definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Tarver tries to grapple but his opponent circles letting Smif counter with a right hand. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bill Smif dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Jab by Smif. Smif sends Tarver crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Smif is motioning to the referee to let Tarver up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Nice uppercut there from Smif. Tarver gets a clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tarver jumps guard and drags Smif to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Tarver is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Tarver is trying to control the position but Smif postures up. Tarver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smif can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarver is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tarver escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smif gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Antonio Tarver overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Smif trying to control but Tarver is working from the bottom. Tarver looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarver working for a triangle but Smif defends it easily.
Tarver has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Smif should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Tarver has tightened it up now! Smif should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
