Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Hansen (ranked 789 p4p, 655 weight class) and Cormac McCarthy (ranked 103 p4p, 85 weight class). Hansen comes to the cage accompanied by Black Sabbath - Iron Man. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cormac McCarthy!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Hansen counter with a right hand.
McCarthy throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Marcus Hansen has been cut.
McCarthy fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hansen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Cormac McCarthy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hansen ducks under a wild hook from McCarthy.
A jab from McCarthy does it's job there.
McCarthy misses with a double jab
and Hansen counters with a stiff right hand.
Hansen clobbers McCarthy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

McCarthy takes one on the chin but seems OK.

We've been hearing reports that Hansen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McCarthy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hansen enables McCarthy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hansen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Hansen will probably get the nod.

and Hansen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hansen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
