PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Linkavitch Chomofsky (ranked 873 p4p, 450 weight class) and Bimbo Slaissi (ranked 113 p4p, 54 weight class). Chomofsky comes to the cage accompanied by Mastodon - Sleeping Giant. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Bimbo Slaissi enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Linkavitch Chomofsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bimbo Slaissi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chomofsky gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Slaissi.
Chomofsky connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Slaissi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Chomofsky looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Slaissi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A jab from Slaissi misses.
Chomofsky looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Chomofsky gets the takedown into side control.
Slaissi holds on to Chomofsky's head and controls the position momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chomofsky wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Slaissi, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Slaissi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Chomofsky lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Slaissi down.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Chomofsky creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Slaissi sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Chomofsky wants to lay and pray for a moment but Slaissi keeps working.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Slaissi throws a series of punches but Chomofsky avoids them all with ease.
Chomofsky throws out a loose jab but Slaissi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Slaissi is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Chomofsky moves out of range of the strikes.
Slaissi throws a looping overhand right but Chomofsky ducks down to avoid it.

Chomofsky takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Slaissi leaves Chomofsky with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Slaissi throws a shot from downtown. Chomofsky moves away and avoids it.
Slaissi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Chomofsky lunges at Slaissi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Slaissi's hand.

Chomofsky fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Slaissi sprawls well initially but Chomofsky persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

A close round but Bimbo Slaissi will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Chomofsky lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Slaissi missing with a left hand there. Chomofsky was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Slaissi throws a big shot that misses.
Chomofsky takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Chomofsky tries to move into range but Slaissi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Chomofsky shoots in and drives through. Slaissi sprawls well.

Slaissi connects with a crisp jab.
Chomofsky bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Slaissi works Chomofsky's body with a nice hook.
Slaissi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slaissi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Chomofsky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Slaissi throws out the jab.
Slaissi moves out of range of the strikes.
A slapping leg kick lands for Slaissi.
A slow jab from Slaissi misses its intended target.
Chomofsky throws a shot to the body.

Chomofsky takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bimbo Slaissi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Slaissi looks to land a left hand but Chomofsky moved out of range nicely.
Chomofsky defending well as Slaissi loads up on a big left hand.

Slaissi looks to score with a jab to the body but Chomofsky is just out of range.

Chomofsky is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Slaissi's half guard.

Slaissi has one foot on Chomofsky's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Chomofsky tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Slaissi was well out of range. Poor timing from Chomofsky.

Slaissi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

and Slaissi counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Slaissi gets caught napping as Chomofsky dives in and scores a takedown. Slaissi manages to retain guard.
Chomofsky slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Slaissi lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chomofsky wants to sweep but no luck.
Slaissi postures up.
Linkavitch Chomofsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Chomofsky looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chomofsky looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slaissi is one step ahead there.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bimbo Slaissi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Chomofsky dives in and scores a takedown into Slaissi's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chomofsky wants to control from the top but Slaissi keeps moving.
Chomofsky connects with a couple of short punches.

Chomofsky slips a nice elbow through Slaissi's hands, connecting with Slaissi's forehead.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slaissi wants to control but Chomofsky is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Slaissi is concentrating on defense, preventing Chomofsky from advancing position.

Chomofsky is working for an americana but Slaissi has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Chomofsky was thinking about the submission.
Chomofsky wants to pass the guard but Slaissi is keeping the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chomofsky's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Chomofsky drops back, looking for a kneebar! Slaissi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Slaissi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Slaissi!

Chomofsky can't escape the position.
Slaissi slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Slaissi is riding his opponent, not letting Chomofsky buck him off.

Linkavitch Chomofsky has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chomofsky can't escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I would just about give that final round to Bimbo Slaissi.
I've got Slaissi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
