PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jorgen Kruth (ranked 1067 p4p, 3087 weight class) and Renato Arbani (ranked 67 p4p, 177 weight class). Kruth kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Black Hole Sun- Soundgarden. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kruth bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kruth works to advance to full mount. Arbani defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Kruth has hold of Arbani's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Arbani manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

We've been hearing good reports from Kruth's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Arbani is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Kruth off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Arbani is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Arbani is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kruth is working for a rear naked choke. Arbani is not defending it well and Kruth has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Arbani refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Arbani's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

After winning the bout, Jorgen Kruth thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
