Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Hightower (ranked 162 p4p, 403 weight class) and Thom Tharrier (ranked 8 p4p, 22 weight class). Hightower kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Power. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hightower looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Tharrier tries a head kick but it misses.
Tharrier lands with a good body shot.
Tharrier has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hightower takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Tharrier lands a big uppercut and Hightower crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hightower looks OK. Tharrier waves Hightower back to his feet!

It looks like Jason Hightower has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tharrier ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hightower moves away.
Hightower throws a big counter combination but Tharrier scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Tharrier fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Hightower has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blacktalians MMA in the buildup to the fight.

Hightower throws a hook to the side of Tharrier's head but Tharrier sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tharrier is trying to counter with his kicks.
Hightower connects with the punch.
Tharrier takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

and Hightower counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Thom Tharrier has been cut.
Hightower lands a nice looking body kick.

Tharrier misses with a lunging right hand
and Hightower cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Tharrier throws out a loose jab but Hightower uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Hightower counters with a nice right hand that sends Tharrier toppling to the canvas! Tharrier scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hightower finish him?!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Crunch! Hightower slams his shin into Tharrier's torso.
Tharrier tries to land a leg kick but Hightower saw it coming and moves away.
Hightower moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Hightower is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Hightower lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Tharrier lands a jab to the head.
A big right from Tharrier misses.
Tharrier swings for the body but Hightower moves out of range.
It looked like Hightower wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Hightower slips under a jab.
A counter left hand to the body from Hightower misses its target.
Hightower lands with a kick to the ribs.
Hightower throws a nice head kick!

That has opened up Thom Tharrier's cut even more.

and Hightower counters with a crisp right hand that drops Tharrier! Hightower lets Tharrier back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Tharrier tries to get into range but Hightower steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Tharrier! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Hightower scores the big KO victory!
