Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shichiroji San (ranked 1566 p4p, 1856 weight class) and Paulo Blikstein (ranked 233 p4p, 272 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shichiroji San! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Blikstein! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Ben Hemmingworth and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick lands from Blikstein. Paulo Blikstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blikstein scores with a hook. San tests Blikstein's chin there with a solid looking shot. We've been hearing reports that San has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Nice jab there from Blikstein. Blikstein is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Blikstein avoids a lazy jab quite easily. San fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blikstein manages to avoid it. San throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blikstein lands a head kick. San smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Blikstein dips to his left and cracks San with an uppercut! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Blikstein lands a big head kick that sends San tumbling to the mat! Blikstein takes a step backwards and waves San back to his feet - he wants the finish!
San is rocked! We've been informed that Blikstein has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Blikstein fakes high and swings low for a body shot but San manages to avoid it. Oh San is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Blikstein misses with an uppercut. San saw that one coming. San seems to have got his legs back now.
That's one minute gone in the round. San throws a jab when Blikstein was well out of range. A countering left hand to the body from Blikstein misses. Blikstein lands a left and a right that send San crashing to the mat, dazed. Blikstein thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Blikstein goes for a double leg but San avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as San continues to drive forward. Blikstein takes a shot right to the bread basket. Blikstein uses good head movement to avoid the hook from San. Blikstein looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. San thows a left - swing and a miss! San throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blikstein throws a quick head kick that skims the top of San's head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sloppy strikes from Blikstein. Those never looked like landing. San dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Blikstein ducks under a wild hook from San. San scores with a hook to the body. Blikstein takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blikstein blocks a jab. Nice straight punches there by San. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of San. Blikstein moves out of range as San strikes. Blikstein is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Blikstein will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. San seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. San closes the distance and clinches. A head punch blocked on the inside by Blikstein. Blikstein tries to throw a body punch but San avoids it by throwing Blikstein back against the cage. San has Blikstein pushed against the cage. Still in the clinch, Blikstein scores with a nice short uppercut. San gets underhooks to prevent Blikstein's takedown attempt.
Shichiroji San has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Blikstein. Both guys are working to get underhooks. A short right hand to the side of the head by Blikstein. San gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Blikstein.
San manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blikstein scores with a jab to the head.
Blikstein connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Jab, jab by Blikstein - just one landing. San misses with a wild body shot. Blikstein is looking for the big counter here. San misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Blikstein counters with a left and a right... And another left! San is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paulo Blikstein! In defeat, Shichiroji San stepped up to the mic, saying 'It's all about life lessons'.
