Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Macca Outback (ranked 222 p4p, 378 weight class) and Bofur Widenose (ranked 26 p4p, 45 weight class). Macca Outback could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bofur Widenose's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Macca Outback!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bofur Widenose!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Outback throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Widenose steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Outback.

Widenose gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Widenose is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Outback has managed to free his arm - good work.
Outback avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Widenose.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Widenose keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Widenose has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Widenose trying to mount his opponent but Outback defends it.
Outback is positioning himself well to prevent Widenose advancing to mount.

Outback has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Widenose thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Outback's head.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Widenose working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Outback is controlling Widenose's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Outback tries to get to full guard but Widenose has control of the leg.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Widenose is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Outback trying to hold on to Widenose's head to control him but Widenose postures up.
Widenose is stalling here. Outback is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Widenose seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Outback has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Outback trying to control the action but Widenose is working from the bottom.
Widenose is looking for a sweep.
Widenose manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Widenose is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Outback controlling the action here.
Widenose tries to roll over but Outback keeps him under control.

Widenose actively working from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Widenose is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Widenose trying to hold on to Outback's head to control him but Outback postures up.
Widenose wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Outback connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Outback throws a jab when Widenose was well out of range.
Widenose takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Widenose shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Outback pinned against the cage. Outback gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Macca Outback will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Widenose shoots in and drives through. Outback sprawls well.
Widenose takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Outback instigates a clinch.

Widenose pulls Outback into guard.
Outback has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Outback showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Widenose working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Outback doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Outback manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Widenose is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Outback frees his head nicely. Oh but Widenose has switched to an armbar! Outback is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Our winner, Bofur Widenose, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
