PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phol Hunt (ranked 303 p4p, 1152 weight class) and Enrico Fermi (ranked 43 p4p, 149 weight class). Enrico Fermi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fermi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A little jabbing left from Fermi on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hunt thows a left - swing and a miss!
Fermi walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hunt checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Hunt swings for the body but Fermi moves out of range.
Fermi stuns Hunt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hunt connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Fermi misses with a wild body shot.
Hunt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fermi circles away quickly and effectively.
We've been told by Hunt's head coaches at Räkälä that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Hunt looks to throw the jab but Fermi is out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt lands a jab to Fermi's midsection.

And Fermi responds with a good body kick, but Hunt manages to step out the way in time.

Phol Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hunt ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hunt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A nice side step and Fermi releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Hunt paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Hunt cracks Fermi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Fermi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hunt rather than just go for the knockout.

Hunt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fermi is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hunt with a body shot.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hunt lands a big right hand that sends Fermi crashing to the mat! Hunt stays standing though and waves Fermi back to his feet!
