With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eugeniy Tryastsyn! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tryastsyn with a poor takedown and Gustafsson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Tryastsyn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. We've been told by Gustafsson's head coaches at Rasmus's Fun House that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Gustafsson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tryastsyn counters with a single leg into guard. Gustafsson didn't expect that. Tryastsyn throws an elbow that misses. Gustafsson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tryastsyn's guard. Nice move by Gustafsson! Gustafsson wants to pass the guard but Tryastsyn is keeping the position. Gustafsson trying to control but Tryastsyn is working from the bottom. Tryastsyn is trying to control the position but Gustafsson postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tryastsyn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gustafsson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tryastsyn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gustafsson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Tryastsyn is tightening it up a little... Gustafsson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gustafsson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gustafsson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Tryastsyn!
