Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Beznisko!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Battuga. Beznisko does a little dance to reset his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Beznisko has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Beznisko misses with a jab to the body
and Battuga counters with a left to the body.
Battuga uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beznisko.
Battuga thows a left - swing and a miss!
Battuga throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Beznisko misses with a takedown attempt
and Battuga counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Beznisko takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A big left from Battuga misses.
And Beznisko tries to counter it with a takedown but Battuga pushes his down on his head and steps out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Battuga is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Beznisko.

Battuga throws the left hand but Beznisko avoids the punch easily.

Beznisko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Battuga defends it nicely.
Battuga was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ardahan Battuga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruslan Beznisko.
and Battuga counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Beznisko! He's just covering up as Battuga starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
