PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sahil Warner (ranked 24155 p4p, 2330 weight class) and Josh Wilkinson (ranked 623 p4p, 321 weight class). Wilkinson has chosen The Who - Eminence front as his entrance music. Josh Wilkinson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sahil Warner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Wilkinson!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warner shoots in looking for a takedown. Wilkinson tries to sprawl out of it but Warner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wilkinson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wilkinson scores with a sloppy right hand. Warner should have avoided that one.

Wilkinson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Warner to the mat! Warner manages to get full guard.
Wilkinson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Warner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Warner seems keen to control Wilkinson's posture.
Wilkinson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Warner thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Wilkinson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Warner pulls Wilkinson in close to his closed guard and prevents Wilkinson from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Wilkinson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Wilkinson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Warner knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wilkinson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Warner looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Warner is trying to stand back up.

Wilkinson gets his hands free as Warner looks to control.

Wilkinson working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Wilkinson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Warner! Can he survive? No! He's out! Wilkinson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Josh Wilkinson!
A very excited looking Josh Wilkinson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
