Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Lewis (ranked 2667 p4p, 1404 weight class) and Lorenz Blackwater (ranked 349 p4p, 185 weight class). Blackwater is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: A$AP Rocky - Everyday. Lorenz Blackwater has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lorenz Blackwater! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Blackwater back to the cage. Lewis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Blackwater is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lewis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lewis throws a right and a left that Blackwater avoids nicely. Blackwater with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lewis to score with a decent uppercut. Lewis throws a lazy right hand but Blackwater sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Lewis tries to clinch but Blackwater is having none of it. Blackwater closes the distance and clinches up with Lewis, looking for a takedown. Blackwater pushes Lewis against the cage but Lewis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lewis instigates a clinch. Lewis tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Lewis can't find room to land a body shot as Blackwater controls the action.
Blackwater has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lewis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Blackwater's coach down at California Top Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Blackwater's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. William Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lorenz Blackwater. Lewis softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Lewis struggles to land a body shot inside as Blackwater controls his hands.
Lewis is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blackwater is trying to break the clinch but Lewis has him pressed against the cage. Lewis stalls. Lewis gets through Blackwater's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Lewis lands with a right to the head. Lewis slows down the pace here.
Lewis blocks a body shot from Blackwater. Blackwater goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lewis prevents it.
Lewis misses with the head strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis lands on the inside with an uppercut. Lewis lands with a light punch inside. Lewis misses with a hook from the clinch. Lewis misses with a hook from the clinch. Lewis misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Lewis has Blackwater pushed against the cage. Lewis goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Blackwater jumps into guard, dragging Lewis to the mat.
Lewis forces his way into half guard. Blackwater trying to control from the bottom.
Lewis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Blackwater knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Lewis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Blackwater has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blackwater is defending against the submission attempts here by Lewis.
Lewis is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lewis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Blackwater is looking to improve his position.
Blackwater regains full guard. Nicely done. Blackwater had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lewis defends it easily. Lewis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blackwater is keeping the position for now. Blackwater keeping moving, preventing Lewis from controlling successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Blackwater is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Lewis has his hands clasped together but Blackwater extends and breaks Lewis's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Blackwater.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lorenz Blackwater! Lorenz Blackwater decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
