Faolin has chosen It Ain’t a Crime by House of Pain as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Kogos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joey Faolin!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faolin slips a straight right by Kogos.
Joey Faolin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kogos bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kogos was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Faolin misses with a hook. Kogos ducked under it nicely.
Kogos swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Faolin misses with a low kick as Kogos jumps back.

and Kogos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Faolin can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Faolin wants to stand but Kogos is controlling the position.
Kogos wants to control from the top but Faolin keeps moving.

Faolin is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Kogos misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Faolin lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kogos backwards.
Kogos wants to break free but Faolin has control.
Faolin misses with a body punch.
Kogos misses with a punch on the inside.

Kogos has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Faolin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kogos is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

Kogos is landing with strikes from the back.
Kogos is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Faolin. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Kogos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kogos lands with a hammerfist to the side of Faolin's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Even with his hooks in, Kogos manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Kogos lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Kogos.

Kogos is landing big shots and Faolin is squirming looking to escape! He can't escape though and the ref jumps in to end the fight!

A pretty intense looking Paulo Kogos took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
