Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Hinkle (ranked 1065 p4p, 733 weight class) and Tyler Lawson (ranked 169 p4p, 114 weight class). Hinkle's entrance music is 3 Hour Tour. A fine choice. Roy Hinkle is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roy Hinkle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Lawson! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lawson wants it to stay on the feet. Lawson misses with a two punch combination.
Hinkle drops down looking for a counter takedown but Lawson sprawls and moves away. Hinkle throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lawson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hinkle is in Lawson's guard. Lawson is looking to stand back up but Hinkle counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lawson. Lawson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hinkle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lawson has hold of Hinkle's hands but Hinkle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Hinkle not doing much here.
Hinkle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ground and pound from Hinkle. Hinkle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hinkle wants to pass to mount but Lawson is defending the position. Hinkle is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hinkle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hinkle tries to pass to full mount but Lawson defends it. Lawson tries to kick Hinkle off but Hinkle keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Hinkle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Lawson tries to get to full guard but Hinkle has control of the leg. Lawson is trying to maintain the position but Hinkle is very close to passing his half guard. Hinkle looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hinkle controlling the action here. Lawson wants to improve his position but Hinkle is controlling well.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Hinkle shoots for a double leg takedown but Lawson sprawls well. He's pushed Hinkle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A momentary lapse in concentration from Lawson enables Hinkle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lawson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hinkle controlling from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hinkle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Hinkle's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Lawson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lawson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hinkle controls the pace. Lawson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hinkle is one step ahead there. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Hinkle showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lawson jabbing away but nothing is landing. The fighters circling - Lawson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Roy Hinkle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lawson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
It looks like Roy Hinkle has been cut. Lawson throws a shot from downtown. Hinkle moves away and avoids it. Hinkle tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lawson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hinkle somewhat. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Roy Hinkle will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Roy Hinkle's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Hinkle shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lawson defends it nicely. Hinkle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Roy Hinkle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hinkle keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Lawson wants to get back to full guard. Hinkle performing his best blanket impression for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hinkle is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Hinkle seems content to control. Hinkle lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Hinkle seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Hinkle working over Lawson with some ground and pound. Lawson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Hinkle with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hinkle takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hinkle looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hinkle not doing much here.
Lawson wants to control but Hinkle is keeping busy.
Lawson has hold of Hinkle's hands but Hinkle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Hinkle is controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lawson's coach down at The Jungle Room was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lawson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lawson throws a jab but it's blocked by Hinkle. Lawson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hinkle circles away quickly and effectively. Hinkle steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lawson. Hinkle half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Lawson jabs Hinkle right on the nose. Hinkle blinks but takes it well. Hinkle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Lawson is looking to stand back up but Hinkle counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lawson.
Hinkle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Roy Hinkle dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Roy Hinkle's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Lawson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lawson throws out a loose jab but Hinkle uses good head movement to avoid it. Hinkle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lawson as he avoids it easily. Hinkle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lawson misses with a few strikes there.
Hinkle closes the distance and clinches up with Lawson, looking for a takedown. Hinkle pushes Lawson against the cage but Lawson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hinkle slips under a jab. Hinkle looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hinkle stands up over Lawson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hinkle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hinkle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lawson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hinkle dives into side control.
Hinkle is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lawson can do to turn this around? Lawson is being controlled here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawson is trying to improve his position. Hinkle lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lawson down.
Hinkle creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hinkle cracks Lawson with a big right hand but Lawson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Lawson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hinkle is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Hinkle is landing with some decent strikes but Lawson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Lawson is rocked! Oooooh, big shot lands for Hinkle! Lawson is hurt baaadly! Hinkle is firing away with more strikes - Lawson is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Hinkle! Roy Hinkle bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
