PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Freaky George (ranked 1387 p4p, 781 weight class) and Dean Stomp (ranked 131 p4p, 69 weight class). Stomp has chosen 80/20SKYBEEF as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Freaky George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dean Stomp!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stomp slips under a jab.
Stomp tried to score with a low kick but George checks it.
It looked like George wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
George takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Stomp fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
George throwing a counter right hand but Stomp manages to avoid it.

Stomp will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
George was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Freaky George has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Stomp.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stomp manages to get an easy takedown there - catching George on his heels. He'll look to pass George's guard now, I'm sure.

Stomp is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Stomp wants to advance to full mount but George doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
George is controlling Stomp's posture.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Stomp is pushing down on George's leg trying to pass to half guard. George is fighting to maintain full guard but Stomp has managed to sneak the leg through.

George on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if George tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stomp looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Stomp jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… George is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by George and Stomp has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

My spies in K.O MMA inform me that Stomp has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Stomp is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but George has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

George refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of George's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
