Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clarence Hoost (ranked 4 p4p, 40 weight class) and Andrei Kersikov (ranked 1 p4p, 6 weight class). Kersikov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Head of the Table kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clarence Hoost!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrei Kersikov!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Kersikov blocks a head kick by Hoost.
Kersikov lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoost goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kersikov appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kersikov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Hoost is looking to counter with a body kick.
Hoost throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kersikov thinks about the counter body kick.
Hoost tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kersikov was well out of range. Poor timing from Hoost.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kersikov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hoost momentarily.

It looks like Clarence Hoost has been cut.
Kersikov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kersikov throws a lazy body kick
and Hoost counters with a three punch combo that has Kersikov backing up. Kersikov nods at Hoost to acknowledge the strikes.
Kersikov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hoost's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kersikov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hoost scrambles back to his feet.

Hoost slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like Andrei Kersikov has been cut.
Hoost misses with a kick to the body
and Kersikov counters with an outside leg kick.
Hoost tries to land a body kick
and Hoost takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hoost.
Kersikov tries a quick counter leg kick but Hoost is wise to it.

Kersikov connects with a high kick.

Clarence Hoost's cut is getting worse.
Kersikov checks a leg kick.
A little jabbing left from Kersikov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kersikov scores with a jab to the head.

Clarence Hoost's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Kersikov falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hoost counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Andrei Kersikov will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Good work by Hoost as he checks the leg kick.
Hoost was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Kersikov thuds his right hand into Hoost's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hoost looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kersikov loads up on a big right hand but Hoost slips the punch.
Hoost appears to be looking for a big counter.

Hoost explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Kersikov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hoost.

Hoost keeps Kersikov at a distance using the push kick.
Hoost jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Hoost throws a leg kick which misses Kersikov's front leg but catches the back leg as Kersikov tries to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoost looks to land a body kick but Kersikov moved away.
Kersikov scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hoost keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kersikov.
And Hoost counters with a quick kick to the body but Kersikov blocks it.
Hoost throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kersikov gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Hoost counters with a straight right hand.
A punch combination from Kersikov misses.
A nice leg kick from Kersikov, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kersikov takes a swing at Hoost's ribcage but misses.
A quick step to the side and Hoost tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hoost works Kersikov's body with a nice hook.
Kersikov swings away with a body shot that misses
and Hoost counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hoost lands a nice hook to Kersikov's body. Kersikov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kersikov throws a leg kick that is checked
and Hoost counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Clarence Hoost dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

An inside leg kick lands from Kersikov.
Hoost misses with the body kick
and Kersikov counters with a low kick, right behind Hoost 's knee.
Hoost pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Despite the aggression on Kersikov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Kersikov in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Kersikov gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Hoost lands an overhand right.
Kersikov connects with a body shot.
Good exchange - Kersikov coming out on top.

Hoost lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kersikov will feel that in the morning.
Hoost misses with a straight right.
Hoost throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kersikov on the side of the head.
Kersikov takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kersikov connects with a right hand. Hoost shakes it off.
Clarence Hoost is winning the standup battle so far.

Kersikov cracks Hoost with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Kersikov has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hoost to stand back up!

Jeez, Clarence Hoost's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Clarence Hoost's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Andrei Kersikov!
Andrei Kersikov is the new heavyweight champion!
A relieved looking Andrei Kersikov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
