PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Einstein (ranked 675 p4p, 849 weight class) and Lesley Dancer (ranked 96 p4p, 119 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Albert Einstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lesley Dancer!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Einstein scores with the left hand. Dancer knows he should have avoided that one.
Einstein misses with a takedown attempt - Dancer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dancer takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Einstein takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Dancer looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Dancer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Einstein was well out of range. Poor timing from Dancer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dancer let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Einstein misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Albert Einstein. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Einstein goes for a double leg but Dancer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dancer continues to drive forward.
Einstein prevents a body shot from Dancer.
Dancer misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dancer throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Einsteins head.
Einstein tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Dancer tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Einstein successfully pulls guard.
Dancer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Einstein working for a triangle but Dancer defends it easily.
Einstein wants to sweep here but Dancer controlling him for the moment.

Einstein looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Einstein escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dancer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dancer stopping the sweep attempt from Einstein.

Einstein tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dancer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Einstein swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Einstein working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dancer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dancer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dancer wants to control from the top but Einstein keeps moving.

Einstein looking for a triangle here. Dancer is fighting it but it looks tight! Einstein pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Dancer is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Albert Einstein!
A relieved looking Albert Einstein thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
