The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Machine lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Matthew Diggs has been cut.
I was talking to Machine's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Diggs lands with a light punch inside.
Machine lands an elbow inside.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Machine just misses with a elbow thrown towards Diggs's brow.
Machine tries to work over Diggs's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Diggs pulls guard.
Diggs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Machine would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Machine got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diggs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Machine has managed to get both his arms back between Diggs's legs - danger averted.
Machine wants to stand but Diggs has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Diggs is looking for a triangle but Machine pushes his legs off easily.
Diggs pulls Machine in close to his closed guard and prevents Machine from doing any damage or advancing position.

Machine wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Diggs's closed guard. He's half up but Diggs has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Diggs pivots and extends the arm, Machine falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Diggs! Well done that man!
