Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Small Richard (ranked 820 p4p, 923 weight class) and Dean Stomp (ranked 74 p4p, 90 weight class). Stomp is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 80/20SKYBEEF. Dean Stomp has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Small Richard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dean Stomp!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stomp listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Stomp throws an overhand right that lands on Richard's shoulder, as Richard tries to avoid the shot.

Stomp darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Stomp is trying to control. Richard wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Stomp prevents Richard from improving his position.
Richard misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Stomp works his foot free and advances to mount.

Stomp looking for a guillotine from mount but Richard is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stomp trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Richard is trying to escape the mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stomp trying to control but Richard is having none of it.

Stomp goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Richard turns into him and now he's in Stomp's guard.
Stomp looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Stomp trying to keep a closed guard but Richard is proving a slippery customer.
Richard cracks Stomp with a solid left hand.
Stomp is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Richard lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Richard wants to control from the top but Stomp keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Richard with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Richard has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Stomp looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Richard postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Stomp bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Richard's guard.

Stomp pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Richard is keeping the position for now.

Richard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stomp gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Stomp tries to free his leg and advance position but Richard is retaining full guard.
Stomp wants to control from the top but Richard keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Richard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stomp defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stomp forces his way into half guard.
Richard gets back to full guard.
Stomp slips nicely into half guard.

Stomp is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Richard sees it coming and defends easily.

Stomp is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Stomp is looking to pass Richard's guard but actually Richard recovers to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stomp wants to control from the top but Richard keeps moving.
Stomp wants to pass the guard but Richard is keeping the position.

Richard looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Stomp controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Stomp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Richard has his foot on Stomp's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stomp works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stomp wants to pass the guard but Richard is keeping the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Stomp dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Stomp shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Richard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stomp pulls his head out easily.
Stomp tries to pass the half guard into mount. Richard knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Stomp wants to advance to full mount but Richard doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Stomp seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stomp passes into half guard.

Stomp seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Richard is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
