The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson has a takedown stuffed.
Sonnen appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt
and Sonnen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Johnson has momentary wrist control but Sonnen slips an elbow through the middle.
Sonnen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Sonnen is proving a slippery customer.
Sonnen cracks Johnson with a solid left hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sonnen stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Johnson has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Sonnen manages to get his head free but now Johnson has transitioned to an armbar! Sonnen grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Johnson ! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
