Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Munoz (ranked 1473 p4p, 1719 weight class) and Charlie Stone (ranked 167 p4p, 198 weight class). Charlie Stone will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnny Munoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charlie Stone!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munoz misses with a body shot
enabling Stone to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Johnny Munoz has been cut.
Stone throws out a loose jab but Munoz uses good head movement to avoid it.

Stone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Munoz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Munoz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Stone is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Munoz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Munoz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Munoz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stone's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Munoz connects with a nice short shot to Stone's temple.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Munoz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stone was covering up waiting for the punch and Munoz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Stone is refusing to be controlled, as Munoz sits in half guard.

Munoz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stone can do to turn this around?

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stone can do anything to dispel that myth.

Munoz is taking a breather. Stone says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Stone is rocked!
We've been informed that Stone has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Munoz lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Stone quite badly. Stone pulls Munoz in close trying to recover. Munoz postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Stone on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Stone doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Munoz!
