PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Park Yo Ka (ranked 786 p4p, 1938 weight class) and Wing Wang (ranked 123 p4p, 282 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Park Yo Ka has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Park Yo Ka seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wing Wang!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang tries for a takedown but Yo Ka sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Wang fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yo Ka avoids it really well and circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Yo Ka misses its target.

Yo Ka connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wang. Wang circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wang shoots in for a takedown but Yo Ka shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Yo Ka throws a hook to the side of Wang's head but Wang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Yo Ka throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wang stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Yo Ka is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wang can do to turn this around?

Wang drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Yo Ka defends it well.
Wang changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yo Ka tries to avoid it but Wang manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yo Ka to the ground. Yo Ka escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yo Ka has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Yo Ka here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yo Ka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
