Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kodiyak Redd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Shalashaska!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shalashaska lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Shalashaska throws a big shot that misses.
Redd throws a hook but Shalashaska blocks it.
Adam Shalashaska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shalashaska smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Shalashaska throws out a loose jab but Redd uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shalashaska misses the jab.
Shalashaska connects with a solid leg kick.
Shalashaska throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Redd counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Shalashaska gets back to full guard.

Shalashaska looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've been hearing that Redd has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Redd chips away with some ground and pound.
Shalashaska keeping full guard, as Redd tries to pass.
Shalashaska looking to hit a scissor sweep but Redd is one step ahead there.

Shalashaska had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Redd defends it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shalashaska trying to control the position.

Redd trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shalashaska is on top in guard.

Shalashaska tries to free his leg and advance position but Redd is retaining full guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Shalashaska working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Shalashaska's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Redd looking for a guillotine here but Shalashaska defends easily.
Redd lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Redd trying to control but Shalashaska is working from the bottom.
Shalashaska is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Redd won't allow Shalashaska to sweep him here.
Redd stands and throws Shalashaska's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Shalashaska is looking to reverse the position.
Redd in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Shalashaska is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Redd has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Shalashaska is trying to control Redd's posture but Redd avoids it.
Shalashaska tries to improve position but can't.

Redd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shalashaska takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Redd has hold of Shalashaska's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Shalashaska tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Redd cranks the arm and Shalashaska screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Shalashaska, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kodiyak Redd!
Our winner, Kodiyak Redd, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
