Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Salvatore Coppola (ranked 5364 p4p, 2408 weight class) and Darius Thibodeaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coppola comes to the cage accompanied by Duality. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Salvatore Coppola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Thibodeaux!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Thibodeaux checks a leg kick.
Coppola shoots in looking for a takedown. Thibodeaux tries to sprawl out of it but Coppola keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thibodeaux manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thibodeaux misses with a straight right.
Coppola scoring well with a low kick there.

Coppola shoots in looking for a takedown. Thibodeaux tries to sprawl out of it but Coppola keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thibodeaux manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Coppola gets the takedown into side control.
Thibodeaux felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Thibodeaux is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Coppola postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Coppola wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thibodeaux, who protects the arm well.

Coppola is trying to get an arm triangle but Thibodeaux is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thibodeaux can do anything to dispel that myth.

Coppola thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Thibodeaux tries to improve position but can't.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Coppola wants to control but Thibodeaux is keeping him busy.

Coppola fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thibodeaux avoids it really well and circles away.
Thibodeaux doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Darius Thibodeaux has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Thibodeaux connects with a nice looking jab.

Coppola closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thibodeaux circles away.
Thibodeaux scores with the left hand. Coppola knows he should have avoided that one.

Darius Thibodeaux is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Coppola circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Thibodeaux. Coppola falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Thibodeaux!
