PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Minerva Wulf (ranked 243 p4p, 1126 weight class) and Bartlomiej Jan (ranked 18 p4p, 84 weight class). Wulf comes to the cage accompanied by Sanctus Dominus. Jan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WJFjXtHcy4 kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartlomiej Jan!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wulf moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jab, jab by Wulf - just one landing.
Wulf has been working on his boxing with his coaches at K.O MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Jan slips a jab and a cross from Wulf.
Jan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wulf defends well and Jan ends up having to push Wulf into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wulf lands with a straight right. Jan didn't see that one coming.
Jan dives in and grabs Wulf's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wulf pushes down on Jan's head and hops out.

Minerva Wulf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bartlomiej Jan.

Wulf lands an elbow that stopped Jan in his tracks for a moment.
Wulf is pressed up against the cage. Jan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wulf down to the mat. Wulf avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wulf pinned against the cage. Wulf gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jan takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Wulf connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jan momentarily.
Wulf stuffs the takedown.

Jan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wulf on his heels. He'll look to pass Wulf's guard now, I'm sure.
Wulf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jan working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Wulf is pulling down on Jan's head. It's preventing any offense from Jan, at least for the moment.

Wulf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Wulf scores with a jab.
Jan shoots in but Wulf avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wulf lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Wulf has closed the distance and engaged Jan in a clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wulf lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Wulf lands an elbow inside that Jan shrugs off.

Wulf lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wulf creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Wulf creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Jan! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Wulf.
