PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mr Torso (ranked 2969 p4p, 3034 weight class) and Santino Oliviera (ranked 348 p4p, 360 weight class). Santino Oliviera told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mr Torso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santino Oliviera!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliviera staying out of range there.
Torso circles away from the clinch attempt.
Oliviera fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oliviera tries to clinch there but Torso circles away.
Torso's corner calls for a 1-2. Torso obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Torso is looking to chop away at Oliviera's legs.
Oliviera gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Torso.
Torso throws a big shot that misses.
Oliviera walks into a stiff left hand from Torso.

It looks like Santino Oliviera has been cut.
A telegraphed right hand from Torso misses the target.
Torso missing with a left hand there. Oliviera was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Oliviera looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Torso tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Oliviera is able to avoid easily.
Oliviera takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oliviera on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Oliviera moves out of range of the strikes.
Oliviera uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Torso.
Oliviera tries to counter with a clinch but Torso shakes him off and moves away.
Oliviera on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Torso. Torso obviously looking to wear him down.

Torso gets tackled into the cage by Oliviera. Oliviera maintains the clinch.
Oliviera jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Torso walks away with a smile on his face. Oliviera gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oliviera is looking to clinch but Torso is avoiding it.
Oliviera closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Torso definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A punch lands to the side of Oliviera 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Torso lands the left hand.

Oliviera is rocked!
Mr Torso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Torso lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Oliviera is still on wobbly legs! Can Torso finish him?

That has opened up Santino Oliviera's cut even more.
Torso weaves into range and cracks Oliviera right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Oliviera goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Torso is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mr Torso!
A pretty intense looking Mr Torso took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
