The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wilkinson connects with a looping right hand.
Billy Richards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Conor Wilkinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Richards.
Richards is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Richards shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Richards showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Richards moves nicely into side control.
Wilkinson seems a little lost for a moment, as Richards dominates the positioning.
Wilkinson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Richards's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Wilkinson is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Richards has taken his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Richards has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Wilkinson's body.
