And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takeda Shida!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shida cracks Fedetenko with an open hand slap.

and Shida counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Shida takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

and Shida counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fedetenko thinking.
Shida digs a good body shot into Fedetenko's ribs.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Fedetenko is breathing heavily.
Shida lands a slapping body shot.

Fedetenko moves in looking to clinch but Shida pushes him off.
Shida throws out a counter right but Fedetenko avoids it with no problem.
Shida clobbers Fedetenko with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Shida has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Fedetenko connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Shida comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fedetenko darts in trying to clinch
and Shida counters with a nice uppercut.

Shida throws a body punch but Fedetenko moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Fedetenko darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Fedetenko swings for the body but Shida moves out of range.
Fedetenko wants to clinch
and Shida connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shida. Fedetenko does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fedetenko is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Fedetenko misses with a right hand
and Shida counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fedetenko takes a swing at Shida's ribcage but misses.
Shida looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Shida lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Shida misses with a straight right.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fedetenko. Shida does a little dance to reset his feet.

Shida looks to throw the jab but Fedetenko is out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Takeda Shida dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A left lands for Fedetenko.
Shida throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fedetenko sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Fedetenko on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Fedetenko drives through and clinches with Shida against the cage.
Fedetenko throws a head punch that misses.
Fedetenko misses with a hook from the clinch.

Shida's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shida swats away the attempt to clinch by Fedetenko.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shida throws a shot from downtown. Fedetenko moves away and avoids it.
A quick step to the side and Fedetenko tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shida uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fedetenko.

Shida throws a right hand that misses
and Fedetenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shida slips under a jab.
Fedetenko throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Shida counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fedetenko thinking.
Shida has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fedetenko swings widly with a right hand
and Shida counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fedetenko thinking.
Shida lands with a straight right. Fedetenko didn't see that one coming.

It looks like Vladamir Fedetenko has been cut.
Fedetenko looks to land a right hand but Shida moved out of range.
Fedetenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shida swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd cheers as Fedetenko lands an impressive looking overhand right. Shida doesn't seem phased though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Shida counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shida scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Shida cracks Fedetenko with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Shida has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Fedetenko to stand back up!

Fedetenko is rocked!
Fedetenko is holding his hands too far apart here. Shida throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Fedetenko is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Takeda Shida!
Our winner, Takeda Shida, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
