Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Mesquita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, White Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Mesquita fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Mesquita fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Goodman, pushing him back against the cage.
Goodman is trying to trip Mesquita. He has hold of a leg but Mesquita is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Goodman persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Goodman working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
