The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos blocks a jab.
Traumen throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Santos misses with a wild body shot.
Santos fails with a takedown attempt.
Michel Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Traumen throws a leg kick that is checked

and Santos decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Traumen's guard.

Traumen has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Santos has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Santos tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Traumen lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Santos doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Santos is looking to take this one to the mat.
Traumen makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Traumen prevents the takedown attempt.
I was talking to Traumen's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Lucas Traumen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michel Santos.

Traumen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Santos fails with a takedown attempt.
Santos pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Santos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Traumen connects with the punch.
Santos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Santos takes a kick to the side of the head.

Santos is rocked!
Traumen lands a nice leg kick that just misses Santos's sensitive parts.
Traumen slips under a jab from Santos.
Traumen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Traumen finish him?
Santos switches off momentarily and Traumen cracks him with a monster right hand! Santos topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Traumen dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Traumen!

Lucas Traumen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
