Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clarence Hoost (ranked 85 p4p, 334 weight class) and Derrick Thomas (ranked 17 p4p, 45 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hoost has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Thomas .
Thomas throws a body kick that misses.
A slapping leg kick lands for Thomas .

and Hoost counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Derrick Thomas has been cut.
Thomas looks to land a combination. Hoost sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Thomas motions for Hoost to come forward. Thomas throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and Hoost counters with a crisp right hand that drops Thomas ! Hoost lets Thomas back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thomas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hoost cracks Thomas 's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Thomas slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Hoost can do further damage! This one is done, son!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Clarence Hoost!
