Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Janko Godwin (ranked 5 p4p, 167 weight class) and Nikolai Ignatiev (ranked 1 p4p, 19 weight class). Ignatiev has chosen Beats That as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Janko Godwin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Nikolai Ignatiev!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing reports that Godwin has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Godwin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Godwin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ignatiev tries to avoid it but Godwin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ignatiev to the ground. Ignatiev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Godwin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ignatiev defends well and Godwin ends up having to push Ignatiev into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
