Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charles Mesquita (ranked 457 p4p, 493 weight class) and Flo Holl (ranked 43 p4p, 46 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Mesquita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 2, fighting out of London, Flo Holl!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita misses with a body shot.
Mesquita darts in looking for a takedown but Holl gets double underhooks and turns Mesquita into the cage.

Holl lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mesquita backwards.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Holl is pressing down on Mesquita's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Mesquita uses his free foot to push down on Holl's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Holl.

Holl sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mesquita in particular looking to stall.

Mesquita slips a nice elbow through Holl's hands, connecting with Holl's forehead.

That was a close round but I would say that Charles Mesquita will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mesquita is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Holl to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Holl shrugs it off.

Mesquita remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charles Mesquita.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mesquita, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
