Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Ryan (ranked 257 p4p, 383 weight class) and Danny Sitsongrit (ranked 34 p4p, 48 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Danny Sitsongrit was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 3, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danny Sitsongrit!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sitsongrit slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sitsongrit misses with an uppercut.
Ryan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sitsongrit counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice defenses there by Ryan.
Ryan needs to keep his hands up - Sitsongrit had a free shot at his head there.
Ryan walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sitsongrit is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ryan.
Sitsongrit takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sitsongrit loads up on a big right hand but Ryan slips the punch.
Ryan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sitsongrit.

We've been hearing reports that Ryan has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sitsongrit. Ryan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ryan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sitsongrit misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ryan.
Sitsongrit fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sitsongrit pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ryan half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Sitsongrit throws the kick towards the body but Ryan avoids it.

Ryan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sitsongrit under the eye.

and Ryan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sitsongrit is looking to get back to full guard here but Ryan has managed to pass to side control instead.
You can see the frustration on Sitsongrit's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Sitsongrit tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sitsongrit is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ryan asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sitsongrit struggling a bit here.
Sitsongrit is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ryan has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Sitsongrit is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ryan's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Ryan! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Sitsongrit has tapped! This one is allllll over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Eddie Ryan!
