Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Torhte Finlayson (ranked 129 p4p, 158 weight class) and Kodiyak Redd (ranked 5 p4p, 7 weight class). Finlayson's entrance music is Scotland the Brave, Black Bear. A fine choice. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 50 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Torhte Finlayson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kodiyak Redd!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redd moves out of range as Finlayson strikes.
Redd feints the counter takedown.

Redd looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Finlayson wants to control but Redd is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Redd throwing shots but Finlayson is blocking nicely.
Redd not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Redd looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Finlayson tries to get to full guard but Redd has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Redd looks to land a strike but Finlayson avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Redd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Finlayson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Finlayson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Redd missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Finlayson keeping moving, preventing Redd from controlling successfully.
Redd tries to free his leg and advance position but Finlayson is retaining full guard.
Finlayson looking for a sweep. Not yet Finlayson, not yet.
Redd has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Redd slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Redd misses with the ground and pound.
Finlayson is trying to get back to half guard.
Finlayson regains half guard there - taking advantage of Redd's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Finlayson is looking for a sweep. Redd is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Redd is looking to take a break and control but Finlayson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Redd prevents Finlayson from improving his position.
Redd tries to pass the half guard into mount. Finlayson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Redd throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Redd not landing any meaningful shots this time.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Redd working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Finlayson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Redd trying to control from Finlayson's half guard. Finlayson has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Redd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Finlayson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Redd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Finlayson manages to avoid it.
Finlayson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Redd moves away.
Finlayson checks a low kick from Redd.
Finlayson throws a poor cross that misses
and Redd makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Finlayson cracks Redd with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Finlayson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Finlayson looks to land a left hand but Redd moved out of range nicely.

It looked like Finlayson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Redd looks to score with a jab to the body but Finlayson is just out of range.
Finlayson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Redd is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Finlayson rather than just go for the knockout.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kodiyak Redd dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Redd throws a push kick but Finlayson slaps the foot to one side.
Redd has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Redd stuns Finlayson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Redd uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Finlayson.

Finlayson misses with a hook.
Redd swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Finlayson lands a lovely overhand right.

Redd gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Finlayson gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Torhte Finlayson!
Torhte Finlayson seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
