Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kolo Ransom (ranked 1995 p4p, 23503 weight class) and Wingers Son (ranked 206 p4p, 453 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kolo Ransom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wingers Son!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ransom's hands.
Ransom tries to move into range but Son moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ransom has a takedown stuffed.
Son ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ransom moves away.
Son connects with a crisp jab.
Son lands a nice shot that snaps Ransom's head back.
Son goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Son lands a jab to the nose.
Ransom walks into a stiff left hand from Son.
Ransom misses with a takedown
and Son counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Son connects with a body shot.

Son lands a jab to the head.
Ransom on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Son closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Son uses his free foot to push down on Ransom's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ransom.
Son thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Son throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Ransom is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Son looking to control but Ransom is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ransom keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ransom avoids a series of strikes thrown by Son.
Ransom bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Son trying to keep a closed guard but Ransom is proving a slippery customer.

Ransom stands and throws Son's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ransom wants to lay and pray for a moment but Son keeps working.
Son gets back to half guard.
Son manages to get to full guard.
Son manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ransom manages to get himself to full guard.

Son trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Ransom trying to keep a closed guard but Son is proving a slippery customer.
Son stands and throws Ransom's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ransom tries to improve position but can't.

Son is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ransom knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ground and pound from Son seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Son is trying to get an arm triangle but Ransom is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Son wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ransom, who protects the arm well.

Ransom stops Son from passing to mount.
Son working the ground and pound but Ransom is defending the strikes.

Son thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Son wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ransom, who protects the arm well.
Son tries to advance position but instead Ransom slips a leg back in to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Son.
Ransom tries to counter by clinching up but Son breaks away and moves out of range.
Son scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ransom in his tracks.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Son, as that shot connected.
Son scores with a kick to the body.
Son misses the shot to the body.
Ransom avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ransom drops down looking for a counter takedown but Son sprawls and moves away.

Son shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Son seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ransom does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ransom wants to control but Son is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Son is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ransom!

Son is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ransom has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Son can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ransom is looking to escape.
Ransom bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Son has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ransom has gone for a leg lock! Son slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ransom's guard.


Son is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ransom is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ransom has escaped and now he's on top!

Ransom wants to control from the top but Son keeps moving.

Ransom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Son swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Son wants to sweep but no luck.
Son throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Ransom drops back, looking for a kneebar! Son looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Son looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Son!

Son staying calm.
Wingers Son has got the better of the ground game so far.
Son trying to control the action but Ransom is working from the bottom.
Ransom gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Son swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ransom is now in Son's guard. A big mistake from Son there, giving up the dominant position!

Son wants to sweep here but Ransom controlling him for the moment.

Ransom drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Son manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ransom has Son in his guard.

Son stays in close to Ransom's body and controls the position.
Son advances to half guard.
Son is pressing down on Ransom's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ransom is holding on for now.

Ransom is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Son pulls his head out easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Son tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ransom knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Son is trying to control the action in half guard but Ransom is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wingers Son showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Son uses his free foot to push down on Ransom's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ransom.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Son. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Son is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ransom to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ransom shrugs it off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ransom tries to lock up and control but Son gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Son wants to finish this one by submission but Ransom is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Son.

Ransom is trying to escape the mount.
Ransom is working hard here to advance position.
Son wants to get back to his feet but Ransom is holding on tight.

Ransom is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ransom is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Son tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Son throws some wild stikes that Ransom manages to avoid easily.
Ransom tries to reverse the position but Son maintains control.

Son goes for an armbar but Ransom turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Ransom.

Son had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ransom defends it easily.
Ransom is looking to advance position but Son has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Poor strikes thrown by Son there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Ransom is wriggling around trying to escape.

Son is working for a guillotine from mount but Ransom frees his head quite easily.
Son trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Son is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Son looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Ransom manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Ransom is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Son seems to be working for a kimura but Ransom defends the submission attempt.
Ransom wants to control but Son is keeping busy.
Ransom avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Son.

Son is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ransom is just riding it out for now. Son eventually gives up the hold.

Son is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ransom sees it coming and defends easily.

Well Son has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
