Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Zuev (ranked 1211 p4p, 540 weight class) and Cole Steel (ranked 161 p4p, 72 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Zuev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Cole Steel! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zuev scores with a leg kick.
Zuev moves away from the strike by Steel. Zuev closes the distance and pushes Steel back into the cage. Steel working aggressively here.
Steel doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Steel misses with a punch on the inside.
Steel misses with the head strike.
Zuev misses with a knee strike.
Zuev prevents a body shot from Steel. Steel has a couple of punches blocked by Zuev.
Zuev misses with a knee strike.
Zuev lands a nice uppercut. Steel throws a head punch that misses. Zuev lands a knee to the head.
Steel misses with a hook to the ribs.
Steel tries a body shot but Zuev blocks it.

Zuev throws a jab when Steel was well out of range. Zuev gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Steel throws out a powerful jab. Steel sizes up Zuev with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Steel gets the takedown into side control. Zuev is trying to improve his position. Steel trying to control the action but Zuev is working from the bottom. Zuev tries to improve position but can't. Steel creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Steel landing a few strikes. Zuev is not content to let Steel control the position. Zuev is being controlled here. Steel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Steel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zuev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Zuev is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Sloppy strikes there by Steel. Steel grinds an elbow into Zuev's temple. Steel working the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel lands some shots froms side control. Zuev is trying to improve his position. Steel trying to control the action but Zuev is working from the bottom. Steel is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Steel working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Steel sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Zuev is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Zuev is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zuev is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel swings around for an armbar but Zuev sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Steel's guard. Zuev wants to stand but Steel has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Zuev trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Steel pulls Zuev in close to prevent any damage. Steel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Steel is pulling down on Zuev's head to control his posture. Zuev trying to control but Steel is working from the bottom. Steel looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Steel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cole Steel dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Zuev avoids a punch combination nicely.
Steel has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Zuev will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Steel takes one on the button. Steel darts in looking for a takedown but Zuev gets double underhooks and turns Steel into the cage. Zuev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zuev gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Zuev cracks Steel with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zuev throws a right and a left that Steel avoids nicely. Steel keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Zuev displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steel throws out the jab. As Steel tries to get set, Zuev tries to push him back and clinch up but Steel manages to avoid the attempt. Steel listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Cole Steel seems to be getting the better of the standup. Zuev lands a lovely overhand right. This has been an exciting period of action! Zuev takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zuev throws a head kick but Steel moves out of range.
Steel looks to score with a jab to the body but Zuev is just out of range. Zuev misses with the combination.
Steel is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Zuev with a body shot. Aleksandr Zuev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Zuev throws a leg kick but Steel sees it coming and moves out of range. Steel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zuev. Steel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Zuevs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Steel on the wrong end of a nice hook. Steel looks to land a combination but Zuev avoids it well. Steel just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromZuev. Some wild striking there from Steel.
Zuev is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Steel. Steel looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Cole Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Steel misses the target. Zuev lands a nice hook to Steel's body. Steel takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Steel shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Steel thows a huge punch but Zuev dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zuev is looking to escape. Steel winds up and cracks Zuev with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Cole Steel has got the better of the ground game so far. Steel missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Steel slows the pace down in half guard. Steel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zuev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Zuev tries to kick Steel off but Steel keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Steel wants to take a breather but Zuev is having none of it. Steel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Steel works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zuev is looking to escape. Steel lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Zuev is squirming around, avoiding Steel's attempts to control the action. Steel lands a big elbow. Steel looking to ground and pound but Zuev is blocking nicely. Steel moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Zuev has worked his arm free - good work by Zuev!
Steel in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel happy to just control the position for now. Zuev parries the strikes from Steel easily there. Steel is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Zuev to escape.
Steel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zuev keeps working. Zuev avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Steel. Steel misses with the ground and pound. Steel in side control lands a decent elbow. Steel is trying to get an arm triangle but Zuev is defending well. Zuev wants to get back to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cole Steel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Steel scores with a decent looking hook. Steel lands a jab to the nose. Steel misses with a straight right. A jab lands there for Steel. Steel tries to close the distance and clinch but Zuev swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Zuev moves out of range of the strikes. Steel rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Zuev counters with a stiff right hand. Zuev is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Steel misses with a hook. A slow jab from Steel misses its intended target. Steel ducks under a wild hook from Zuev. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zuev throws a body punch but Steel moves out of range. Steel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zuev circles away quickly and effectively. Steel takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Zuev on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Steel works over Zuev's head and body with a nice combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Steel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Zuev - the referee stops the clock and Steel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Zuev. Steel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Zuev fails to land with a series of punches.
Zuev connects with a high kick. Zuev moves into range and connects with a jab. A head kick misses from Zuev. Nice uppercut there from Zuev. Steel throws a right hand that misses
and Steel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Zuev throws an off balance right hand
and Steel counters with a nice uppercut. Steel jabbing away but nothing is landing. It looked like Zuev wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Steel misses with an uppercut
and Zuev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Steel misses with a body shot.

Zuev scores with a spinning back kick! Zuev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zuev keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Steel. Decent striking displayed by Zuev there. Steel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Zuev on the side of the head. Zuev tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Steel might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Zuev throws a hook but Steel blocks it. Steel throws a jab but it's blocked by Zuev. Steel misses with a body shot.
Steel misses with a looping left. Steel throws a hook to the side of Zuev's head but Zuev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Steel swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Good exchange - Steel coming out on top. Steel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Zuev.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel fails to land with a series of punches.
Zuev throws a head kick that misses. Zuev scores with a jab to the body. Zuev stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Zuev lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Aleksandr Zuev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Steel avoids the head kick by Zuev.
Steel throws a body punch but Zuev moves out of range. Steel sizes up Zuev with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Zuev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Steel looks to land a right hand but Zuev moved out of range. A little feinted left hand from Zuev on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Zuev avoids the body shot from Steel.
Steel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zuev manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Zuev is wriggling around but Steel manages to pass to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Zuev blocking the ground and pound attempt from Steel.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Zuev misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Steel not landing any meaningful shots this time. Steel with the ground and pound but Zuev uses the opportunity to regain guard. Zuev avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Zuev throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Steel content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Cole Steel is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Zuev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Cole Steel. I've got Steel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
