The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Craven drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hug working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Craven.

Hug is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Craven is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hug is controlling him.

Craven looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hug has picked Craven up and slammed him! Craven can't keep hold of the triangle and Hug manages to pass to side control!

Craven seems a little lost for a moment, as Hug dominates the positioning.

That was a close round but I would say that Abel Hug will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

and Hug counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hug uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Craven.

Hug bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Craven's head.

Craven shoots for a double leg takedown but Hug sprawls well. He's pushed Craven's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hug is looking to slow Craven down with leg kicks.
Hug throws out a loose jab but Craven uses good head movement to avoid it.
Craven tries for a takedown but Hug sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Craven closes the distance and clinches up with Hug, looking for a takedown. Craven pushes Hug against the cage but Hug circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Craven misses with a few strikes there.

Hug was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Hug throws a low kick but it's checked well by Craven.

Hug uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Craven blocks a head kick by Hug.
Hug steps in with a hook that catches Craven right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Hug follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Craven looks absolutely devastated.
