Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Jones (ranked 2246 p4p, 1608 weight class) and Alan Spence (ranked 276 p4p, 203 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Spence 's choice of entrance music: Were Coming. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Alan Spence !
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Spence circles away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Spence ! But no joy.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones slips under a jab.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Spence sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing that Jones has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spence looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Jones seems a little lost for a moment, as Spence dominates the positioning.

Jones has control of Spence 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Spence regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Jones goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Spence turns into him and now he's in Jones's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spence stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Alan Spence will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Spence .
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Spence swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Spence lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spence tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spence to the ground. Spence escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones.
A little jabbing left from Spence on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Spence stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spence wants it to stay on the feet.

Alan Spence is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Spence lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
