Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Boy Walton (ranked 186 p4p, 275 weight class) and Alexus Argento (ranked 26 p4p, 34 weight class). Argento has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. Alexus Argento has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Boy Walton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexus Argento! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walton rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Argento counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Walton! Walton manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Walton is pressing down on Argento's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Argento postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Argento is in close to Walton's body, working some short punches and elbows. Walton has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Argento has passed into side control.
Argento working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Walton is trying to control Argento's posture but Argento avoids it. Walton is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walton tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Argento landing shots from mount. Walton is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Argento in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Walton is desperately trying to improve his position but Argento has a good base and remains in mount. Walton gets back to half guard. Argento is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Walton doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Argento. Walton makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Walton.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walton looking to control.
Argento wants to control from the top but Walton keeps moving. Walton pulls Argento in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walton working a defensive guard but Argento manages to pass into side control anyway.
Walton tries to get back to half guard but can't. Walton struggling a bit here. Argento is looking to take a break and control but Walton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Walton gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Walton is doing well to control the position and prevent Argento from advancing to side control. Walton wants to get back to full guard. Argento winds up and cracks Walton with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Argento throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Walton to regain full guard. Argento looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Walton trying to keep a closed guard but Argento is proving a slippery customer.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Alexus Argento dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Walton pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Argento displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Walton throws out the jab. Argento defending well as Walton loads up on a big left hand. Walton throws a body shot but no joy. Walton dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Argento checks the leg kick. And Argento responds with a good body kick, but Walton manages to step out the way in time. Walton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Argento.
Argento has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Walton lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Walton takes a shot right to the bread basket. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Argento blocks a jab. Argento throws out a counter right but Walton avoids it with no problem. Argento checks the leg kick nicely there.
Argento throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Walton misses the target. Walton lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Argento does no damage. It looked like Walton wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. John Boy Walton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walton looks to land a right hand but Argento moved out of range. Walton throws out a loose jab but Argento uses good head movement to avoid it. A nice leg kick from Walton, right into the meat of the thigh.

It looks like John Boy Walton has been cut. Argento with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Walton to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Alexus Argento has been cut. Argento darts in and out, connecting with a jab. John Boy Walton is winning the standup battle so far. Walton on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. John Boy Walton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Argento staying out of range there. Walton throws a jab but it's blocked by Argento. Argento cracks a nice hook into Walton's ribs. Walton looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Walton looks to score with a jab to the body but Argento is just out of range. Good work by Argento as he checks the leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice body kick there by Argento. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Argento with a body punch. A glancing blow. Walton swings for the body but Argento moves out of range.
Argento misses with a hook to the body
letting Walton counter with a right hand. Walton throws a lazy right hand but Argento sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Walton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Argento. Walton takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Argento looks to land a combination but Walton avoids it well. Argento is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Walton rather than just go for the knockout. Argento lands a nice looking body shot.
Argento fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walton sprawls well initially but Argento persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Argento is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Argento there. Argento prevents Walton from improving his position. Ground and pound from Argento. Argento lands a big shot. That's four minutes gone in the round. Argento is thwarting Walton's attempts to control the position. Walton taking some punishment here, with Argento in his half guard. Argento wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walton keeps working. Argento is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Argento works his way into full mount! Argento wants to control the pace but Walton is squirming around nicely. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Alexus Argento showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! Argento takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Argento moves out of range as Walton strikes. A looping hook to the body misses from Argento. Walton does a little dance to reset his feet. Walton checks a leg kick. Walton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Argento moves away. Walton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Walton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Argento. Walton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Argento circles away quickly and effectively. A little jabbing left from Argento on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walton misses the shot to the body. Argento replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Walton blocks it well. A head kick misses from Argento. Argento lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Walton at a distance.
Walton's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Walton duly obliges. John Boy Walton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walton scores with a hook. Argento lands a really nice looking cross but Walton seems unphased.
Walton looks to score with a jab to the body but Argento is just out of range. Argento fails with a takedown attempt. Walton throws a leg kick and Argento counters with a left and a right that stings Walton. Walton keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Walton was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Argento comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Argento uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Walton. A countering left hand to the body from Argento misses. Walton misses with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Argento lands a big right hand that sends Walton crashing to the mat! Argento stays standing though and waves Walton back to his feet!
Walton is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Walton uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Oh Walton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Walton throws a lazy uppercut
and Argento makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Walton really felt that one! Walton seems to have got his legs back now. The ref watches Walton closely before deciding to step in and end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexus Argento! Alexus Argento seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
