Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vladamir Fedetenko!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Puncher Face!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Face rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fedetenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Puncher Face has been cut.
Face throws a shot to the body.
Face bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Fedetenko's head backwards.
Face throws a lazy uppercut
and Fedetenko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Face misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fedetenko seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
The crowd cheers as Fedetenko lands an impressive looking overhand right. Face doesn't seem phased though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Face misses with a left hand

and Fedetenko counters with a nice right hand that sends Face toppling to the canvas! Face scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Fedetenko finish him?!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Face misses with a wild combination.

Face misses with a few strikes there.
Fedetenko tries to counter by clinching up but Face breaks away and moves out of range.
Fedetenko lands a nice hook to Face's body. Face takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Face throws a hook but Fedetenko avoids it easily.
Face has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Face falls off balance throwing a combination

and Fedetenko holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Face is trying to break the clinch but Fedetenko has him pressed against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Fedetenko.
Face throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fedetenko blocks it with crossed arms.
I was talking to Fedetenko's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Fedetenko makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Fedetenko lands a right hand.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Fedetenko.
Fedetenko using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Face has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Fedetenko lands with a short shot to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Face has had enough of the clinch but Fedetenko keeps him there for the moment.
Face tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Fedetenko lands a right hand that snaps the head of Face backwards.

Fedetenko tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Fedetenko has Face pressed against the cage, preventing Face from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Fedetenko lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Fedetenko lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Face.
Face looks winded!
Face is looking to break free of the clinch but Fedetenko has double underhooks.
Fedetenko lands a nice knee to the body.
A body shot lands from Fedetenko.
Fedetenko landing knees to the body.
Face is trying to push Fedetenko away but Fedetenko has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Face tries to break the clinch but Fedetenko is controlling the position.
A short uppercut from Fedetenko.
Fedetenko connects with a knee to the head.
Fedetenko lands with a right to the head.
Fedetenko lands a left hand.
Fedetenko lands with a short shot to the head.

Fedetenko drops Face with a big knee straight up the middle! Face is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Face is rocked!
Fedetenko fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Face out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Vladamir Fedetenko!
