Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Janko Godwin (ranked 5 p4p, 121 weight class) and Wusan Ritori (ranked 2 p4p, 15 weight class). Ritori is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godwin loads up on a big right hand but Ritori slips the punch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Godwin.
Ritori throws a big shot that misses.
Ritori keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ritori only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Godwin shoots and misses
and Ritori counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Godwin is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Godwin doesn't manage to clinch there - Ritori circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing reports that Godwin has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Ritori throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Godwin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ritori throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Godwin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ritori throws a hook but Godwin blocks it.
Godwin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Godwin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ritori.
Ritori throws a leg kick but Godwin sees it coming and moves out of range.

and Ritori counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Ritori looks to land a left hand but Godwin moved out of range nicely.
Godwin throws a big counter combination but Ritori scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Godwin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ritori throws out the jab.

Ritori replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Godwin blocks it well.
Ritori throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Ritori! Godwin is out on his feet! Ritori rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Godwin is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Godwin is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
