Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Elwyn Donal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Price!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Price takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Price throws an off balance right hand
and Donal counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Pete Price has been cut.
Good exchange - Price coming out on top.
Price throws a jab when Donal was well out of range.
We've been told by Donal's head coaches at League of Shadows MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Donal closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Donal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Price paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Donal thows a body kick. Price tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Price dips to his left and cracks Donal with an uppercut!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Price takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Donal is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Donal misses with a jab, cross combination.
Donal tries to move into range but Price moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Price fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Donal gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Price throws a jab when Donal was well out of range.
Donal lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sloppy strikes from Donal. Those never looked like landing.
Donal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Price manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Price feints and as Donal raises his hands in defense, Price changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Price loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Price slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Price trying to control the position from guard on top but Donal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Price passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Donal tries to bench press Price off him but Price keeps the position.
Price wants to control but Donal is keeping him busy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Donal sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Price working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Donal's thigh. Donal counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Price tries to free his leg and advance position but Donal is retaining full guard.

Price trying to control but Donal is working from the bottom.
Donal wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Price passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Price is looking to take a break and control but Donal is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Price tries to move to mount but Donal blocks the move with his legs.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Price wants to control but Donal is keeping him busy.

Price is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Donal knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Price tries to advance to mount but Donal instead regains half guard.
Price wants to lay and pray for a moment but Donal keeps working.

Donal avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Price.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Elwyn Donal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Price lands a jab to the nose.
Donal slips under a jab.
Donal is looking to counter punch.
Price swinging wildly here.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Price misses with a left hand
and Donal counters with a slapping leg kick.
Donal scores with a jab.
Donal throws a hook to the side of Price's head but Price sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Price feints the counter takedown.
Donal uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Price.
Donal uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Price throws a poor cross that misses
and Donal counters with a nice body kick.
Donal moves out of range as Price strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Price closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Donal is looking to clinch but Price is avoiding it.
Price lands with a hook. Donal tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A big left from Price misses.
Donal misses with a kick to the body.

Price lands with an overhand left.

Oooooh!!! Donal has knocked Price down with a huge combo! Donal steps away and waves a wobbly Price back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Price fails with the takedown.
Price connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Donal is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Price misses with a left hand
and Donal counters with a good, hard body kick but Price shrugs it off.
Donal scoring well with a low kick there.

Donal moves into the clinch.
Price goes for a takedown attempt but Donal pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Donal keeps Price at a distance using the push kick.
Price looks winded!
Donal scores with a nice head shot.
A slapping body kick lands there for Donal.
Price throws a lazy uppercut
and Donal counters with a stiff right hand.

Donal feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Price sprawling to the canvas! Price rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Donal finish him?!

Price is rocked!
Donal tests Price's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Price is still on wobbly legs! Can Donal finish him?
Donal drops Price with a straight right hand, right on the button! Donal follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elwyn Donal!
In his post fight interview, Elwyn Donal started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
