Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Big Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Mendez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy lands a body shot.
Boy throws a shot from downtown. Mendez moves away and avoids it.
Boy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Boy misses with a left hand
and Mendez counters with a one-two to the body.
Boy throws out a loose jab but Mendez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mendez shoots in looking for a takedown but Boy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mendez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Boy lands with a nice body punch.
Boy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Mendez thows a left - swing and a miss!
Big Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boy connects with a jab.
Boy throws a right hand that Mendez ducks under and follows up with a left that Mendez also avoids with ease.
Mendez is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Mendez slips a jab and a cross from Boy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mendez swings widly with a right hand
and Boy counters with a straight right hand.
Boy scores with a nice strike.
Boy stuffs the takedown attempt from Mendez. Mendez gets slowly back to his feet.

Mendez misses with a lunging right hand
and Boy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mendez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boy.
Mendez throws the left hand but Boy avoids the punch easily.
Mendez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mendez wants to control but Boy is keeping him busy.
Mendez missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Boy on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
It looks like Big Boy has been cut.
Boy wants to control but Mendez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mendez not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mendez prevents Boy from improving his position.
Mendez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Boy is rocked!
Mendez is nestled in close to Boy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Oh Boy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jeez, Big Boy's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Big Boy's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
