Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Willie Diggs (ranked 2 p4p, 192 weight class) and Cathal Doherty (ranked 1 p4p, 22 weight class). Diggs comes into the arena with CHOSEN 1 blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Doherty's choice of entrance music: Jeremy- Pearl Jam. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty throws a hook but Diggs blocks it.
The fighters circling - Doherty throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Doherty throws a looping overhand right but Diggs ducks down to avoid it.
Doherty throws an off balance right hand
and Diggs finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

And Diggs counters with a quick kick to the body but Doherty blocks it.
Diggs uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Doherty.
Doherty tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Doherty misses with a straight left.

Diggs was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diggs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Doherty manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Diggs steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Doherty.
Diggs has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Convicted Fight Club in the buildup to the fight.
Doherty ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diggs moves away.

Doherty might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Doherty throws out a loose jab but Diggs uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Diggs counters with a crisp right hand that drops Doherty! Diggs lets Doherty back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Diggs counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Doherty out cold! What a finish! Diggs is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
