Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michel Santos!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos shoots in and drives through. Traumen sprawls well.
Traumen tries to counter with a takedown but Santos is quick to defend against it.
We've been told by Traumen's head coaches at Champion Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Traumen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Santos.
Santos is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Santos throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Santos throws a series of punches but Traumen moves out of range.

Traumen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Santos looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Santos has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Traumen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Santos moves away.
Traumen is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Santos takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Traumen leaves Santos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Santos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Traumen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Santos tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Traumen defends well and Santos ends up having to push Traumen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lucas Traumen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michel Santos.

Santos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Traumen swivels and escapes.
Traumen closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Santos out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Lucas Traumen decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
