PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheikh Mahmut (ranked 368 p4p, 292 weight class) and Biscuit Oliva (ranked 25 p4p, 20 weight class). Oliva has chosen Vo Williams - Primal (ft. Vyceroy) as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sheikh Mahmut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Biscuit Oliva!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oliva throws a leg kick but Mahmut sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Oliva pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mahmut darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mahmut takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looks like Sheikh Mahmut has been cut.
Mahmut slips under a jab from Oliva.
Oliva misses with a body shot.
Oliva looks to land a left hand but Mahmut moved out of range nicely.
Mahmut was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
A chopping leg kick lands by Mahmut.
Oliva moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

It looks like Biscuit Oliva has been cut.
Oliva throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
The crowd cheers as Mahmut lands an impressive looking overhand right. Oliva doesn't seem phased though.
Mahmut swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mahmut misses the jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oliva throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Mahmut counters with a nice leg kick.
Mahmut avoids the head kick by Oliva.
We've been informed that Oliva has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Oliva avoids the body shot from Mahmut.

Mahmut clinches up with Oliva and pushes him back against the cage.
Mahmut blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Mahmut is pushing Oliva up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Mahmut is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Mahmut tries to stall but Oliva uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Oliva lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mahmut backwards.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Oliva.
Mahmut is trying to maintain a safe position but Oliva gets an underhook and turns Mahmut into the cage.

Oliva lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Oliva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mahmut misses with a hook
and Oliva counters with a leg kick.
Mahmut is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oliva cracks Mahmut with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Mahmut looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Oliva finish him?
Mahmut throws a nice looking combination but Oliva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mahmut is looking to clinch.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mahmut checks a leg kick.
Mahmut swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Oliva is looking to score with low kicks.
Mahmut has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Oliva finds it's way round the side to connect with Mahmut's head.
Mahmut's jab looks to have found its range, popping Oliva under the eye.
Oliva lands a front kick.
Oliva connects with a single shot there.

Sheikh Mahmut's cut is getting worse.

Oliva throws a low kick but it's checked well by Mahmut.
A nice leg kick from Oliva, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Oliva counters with a nice kick to the body.
Mahmut moves out of range as Oliva throws a body kick.
Oliva lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A nice leg kick lands there from Oliva.
Mahmut misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Oliva counters with a nice leg kick.
Oliva avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Oliva sends Mahmut crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Oliva is motioning to the referee to let Mahmut up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Oliva drops Mahmut with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mahmut looks back up at him and smiles so Oliva waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Mahmut is rocked!
Mahmut has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Oliva.
Oh Mahmut is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mahmut's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result.
Mahmut throws a predictable looking body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Oliva lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Mahmut seems to have got his legs back now.
Oliva wants to slow Mahmut down by chopping away at his legs.
Oliva scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Oliva scores with a spinning back kick!

Mahmut stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Oliva.
Oliva lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Oliva throws a hook but Mahmut avoids it easily.
It looked like Mahmut wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Oliva cracks Mahmut with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Oliva has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mahmut to stand back up!

Sheikh Mahmut's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Oliva pushes Mahmut away with a front kick.
Oliva flashes Mahmut a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Mahmut's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Mahmut crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Oliva punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Biscuit Oliva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
