Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Sidorov (ranked 824 p4p, 3299 weight class) and Ripp Colton (ranked 36 p4p, 153 weight class). Sidorov comes to the cage accompanied by Sidorov's Heart. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ivan Sidorov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ripp Colton! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Colton misses with a wild body shot. Sidorov shoots in for a takedown but Colton shows good takedown defense. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Colton! But no joy. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sidorov is defended easily by Colton. Colton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Colton wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Sidorov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Colton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sidorov. Sidorov feints and as Colton raises his hands in defense, Sidorov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Sidorov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Colton swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sidorov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sidorov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Colton seems keen to control Sidorov's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sidorov tries to free his leg and advance position but Colton is retaining full guard. Colton pulls Sidorov in close to his closed guard and prevents Sidorov from doing any damage or advancing position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Sidorov trying to control the position from guard on top but Colton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Sidorov scores with a takedown into Colton's guard. Sidorov is stalling in the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Colton has control of Sidorov's left arm, preventing Sidorov from doing any damage. Colton being controlled here, momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Colton controls Sidorov momentarily but Sidorov frees himself. Sidorov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Sidorov trying to control but Colton is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Colton slaps away a takedown attempt from Sidorov, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sidorov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Colton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sidorov is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Colton will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Colton tries to buck Sidorov off but Sidorov is having none of it. Sidorov landing a few strikes. Colton tries to bench press Sidorov off him but Sidorov keeps the position. Sidorov throws a strike aimed at the side of Colton's head but Colton avoids it well. A lull in the action here. We've been hearing that Sidorov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sidorov throwing strikes but missing, from side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Sidorov dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. No luck for Sidorov with that takedown attempt. Sidorov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Colton napping and manages to drive through into side control! Colton has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Sidorov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Colton keeps working. You can see the frustration on Colton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sidorov just content to control the position. Sidorov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sidorov wants to control but Colton is keeping him busy. Sidorov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Colton can do to turn this around? Sidorov takes a little break here. Colton wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Sidorov misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Sidorov fails to land the takedown. Sidorov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Colton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Sidorov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sidorov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Colton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Sidorov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Colton misses the jab. Colton swings for the body but Sidorov moves out of range.
Sidorov goes for a double leg but Colton avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Colton continues to drive forward. Colton wants to get back to striking at distance but Sidorov won't allow it.
Sidorov has picked Colton up - he's going for a ride! Sidorov dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Sidorov lands strikes from half guard. Sidorov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Colton keeps working. Sidorov trying to control the pace. This is a sustained period of stalling by Sidorov. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sidorov works his way into side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Sidorov dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Sidorov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ivan Sidorov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sidorov trying to control the position from guard on top but Colton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sidorov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Colton is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sidorov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Colton swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sidorov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Colton is working away from the top position though. Sidorov is trying to get back to full guard. Sidorov works his way to full guard. Good work. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sidorov pulls Colton in close to his closed guard and prevents Colton from doing any damage or advancing position. Sidorov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Colton manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Sidorov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sidorov lands in his opponent's guard. Sidorov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Colton is keeping the position for now. Colton pulls Sidorov in close to his closed guard and prevents Sidorov from doing any damage or advancing position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. And that's the end of the fight! Ivan Sidorov showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sidorov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
