Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Castellanos (ranked 650 p4p, 376 weight class) and Sparring John (ranked 81 p4p, 50 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jose Castellanos has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jose Castellanos seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Castellanos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sparring John! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Castellanos. John checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. John ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Castellanos tries to work over John's front leg with a kick but John checks it. John now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Castellanos throws a jab but it's blocked by John. John throws out a loose jab but Castellanos uses good head movement to avoid it. John jabs Castellanos to the body, keeping him at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A slow jab from John misses its intended target. Castellanos has closed the distance and engaged John in a clinch.
John lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Castellanos.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castellanos tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. John misses with a hook to the ribs.
John misses with a shot to the kidneys.
John's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Castellanos can't find room to land a body shot as John controls the action.
Castellanos swings wildly with an uppercut but John uses good head movement to avoid it. Castellanos lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. John breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. John throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Castellanos is looking to counter with a body kick. John fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A little feinted left hand from Castellanos on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. John just misses with a punch to the body.
John swings widly with a right hand
and Castellanos counters with a stiff right hand. Castellanos smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Sloppy strikes from John. Those never looked like landing. Sparring John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castellanos misses with a straight left. The crowd cheers as John lands an impressive looking overhand right. Castellanos doesn't seem phased though. This has been an exciting period of action! Castellanos swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Castellanos has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Undisputed in the buildup to the fight. John lands a nice looking body shot.
John swings away with a body shot that misses
and Castellanos counters with a nice body shot. John looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. John will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
John wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castellanos misses with a leg kick. Castellanos keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
John lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Castellanos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Castellanos darts in and out, connecting with a jab. John swings and misses with a shot to the body and Castellanos counters with a straight right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castellanos takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. John jabs Castellanos to the body, keeping him at a distance. John misses with a body shot
and Castellanos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! Castellanos misses with a body shot.
John throws a sloppy body shot
and Castellanos counters with a nice right hand that sends John toppling to the canvas! John scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Castellanos finish him?!
John is rocked! John misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Castellanos counters with a huge right that knocks John out cold! Castellanos is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jose Castellanos! Jose Castellanos seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
